Khalavha celebrates 100-year milestone of community elder

Mandela Day became extra special in Khalavha as the community gathered to celebrate a remarkable milestone, the 100th birthday of senior citizen Ratshidaho Richard Tshivhase. The celebration was honoured by the presence of His Royal Majesty Mailausumbwa Tshivhase, whose attendance went beyond ceremony symbolising royal recognition, unity, and a powerful endorsement of the values of respect, heritage, and community upliftment.

Held on a day dedicated to service and humanity, the event brought together community members to honour the life of a man described as a living library of wisdom and history. Elders were recognised as the backbone of tradition, guidance, and unity custodians of stories, values, and lessons that continue to shape younger generations.

Musanda Vho Miriiavhavha also honoured the centenarian with special gifts, demonstrating profound respect for his long life of contribution and legacy. In a moving tribute, he was celebrated with these words:

Your life story is a rich source of wisdom and experience. Cheers to a century of immeasurable love, wisdom, and legacy.”

The event beautifully reflected the spirit of Mandela Day service, respect, and love while reminding the community of the priceless role elders play in preserving culture and strengthening unity in Khalavha, strengthened even further by royal presence and leadership.
